ImageToday I talked with a very busy Vasco Nunes for the Who is Who in the Mambo community series. Vasco is the developer of Docman, which is the most popular component for MOS 4.5 currently. Many other developers have learned a lot from his component.

Mambo and You

When did you get in contact with Mambo?
In June 2003, when I was searching for an Open Source solution to buid a portal like system for a client.

What is your current role in the Mambo community?
I'm developing DocMan, a document management and download system for Mambo that will be reach a stable status by the end of February. There are other small modules to integrate along with DocMan and a couple of them just for fun, like MyWeather, a METAR station weather fetching module.

Do you have any Mambo projects beside the above?
Yes. I use Mambo as a solution for a lot of sites. When I need something not available I try to code a component or a module that will do it.

What are you doing, when you are not working for Mambo?
Well, I have my regular job. So, I'm working. No spare time, after all.

About Mambo

What is Mambo's biggest advantage against other CMS?
Simplicity and flexibility.

Where do you see Mambo in the future?
It will be a question of time to see Mambo as the leader Open Source Content Management System. Everyday more and more people are discovering the whole potential of this great solution.
