Jan de Graaff from tsmf-mambo.com has released the latest changelog of the upcoming version 0.8 of his wonderfull forum component Simpleboard. As always also this release will be feature packed:

Avatar support including user upload
Basic User Stats
Restricted Forums for certain usergroups
Support of Hot Topics on top sorting
Support of MOS templates CSS file

These are the most significant additions. Read on to see the full list of new features.

- Avatars:

Admin configurable Avatar support (enable/disable)
Admin can allow users to upload their own avatars
Admin can set restrictions on uploadable Avatars (max. width/heigt/filesize)
Admin can create an Avatar Gallery for users to choose from
Admin can determine if users are offered the upload functionality, the gallery or both

- Basic User Stats; see how many post someone has made and his/her usertype. This can de turned off/on by Admin.

- Forum Access Level Regulations:

Public / Non Public settings on a forum level (not category, compareable to fudForum).
Access Level Settings on a Non Public Forum; grant access to Users, Editors, Moderators, Administrators or Superadministrators on an upwards scale.
i.e. setting the access level to Moderators will only show the forum in the Forum List to Moderators and up.
Setting the access level to users, will show it to all registered users. Entrance to the forums is regulated the same way.

- Icon Set support. Upload a module (for which I will make further documenation available later) with icons and switch from text links to buttons instantaneously! Easy to integrate, easy to create. Simpleboard can now be adapted to any template on the fly!

- Hot Topics on top. Topics in the Topics List are now ordered by 'most-recent-post-to-that-topic' and not by creation date anymore. This ensures that older topics with a lot of posts will remain around the top of the topics list and that newer topics with less traffic will "sink down"

- The Last xx Hours Posts view now groups posts by Topic. So a topic with many new posts will not clog up the view.

- View Counter for Topics, is show in the Topics List. Let's you see how many times a Topic has been viewed.

- Template CSS support. Simpleboard now uses your Templates CSS file. It has no own CSS file anymore (except for a few exceptions)

- Admin Area Rework. Big fixeruppa of the Admin Area section. All's much more clear now and logically ordered.
