Today core member Phil Taylor send me this open letter from Robert Castley, after he received the donation raised by the community as a farewell gift:
What would be great to see in the future is for the Mambo community ( or any other Open Source Community ) to arrange an annual collection for those less fortunate. The amount I have recieved, which was raised in a very short period of time, would make a huge impact on a few peoples lives. For example, I could now buy 133 water filters or immunise 47 children or 16 jerry cans for carrying water. These examples may not mean much to you or I, but they help change and improve the lives for many others." |

"This is a short note to say thank you to everyone who gave to the surprise collection for me. As far as to what I will do with the money raised is still undecided but I can assure you that somebody somewhere less fortunate than you or I will be having a better Christmas. This time of year is about giving and not recieving, much like the Mambo project itself.
