Although Mamboportal.com has already 300 templates online, we can't compete with Mambo's No.1 template website - Mambohut.com. Besides their template filebase, Mambohut also has a huge template showcase, where you can preview hundreds of templates live. Today I talked with Michael Morris, the founder of this website, for our Who is Who section. Read on, to see his interview.

Mambo and You
When did you get in contact with Mambo? I learned about Mambo in summer 2003 when I was ready to redo my personal website and almost half way through I discovered Mambo, installed it, played with it for a little while until I learned how to make my first template and I was hooked since.
What is your current role in the Mambo community? I am the founder of MamboHUT.com, a template focused website which is a showcase for freely available Mambo templates. The site features a gallery of templates screenshots and a templates demo which make it easy for Mambo users to browse the increasing number of Mambo templates available to them. We now hold 300+ templates from Mambo designers worldwide.
Do you have any Mambo projects beside the above? I help new user with converting their sites to Mambo; I also provide Mambo friendly hosting and templates conversion to Mambo users throughout my newly opened company 'BuyHTTP Internet Services' (www.buyhttp.com) , more projects are coming out in the near future.
What are you doing, when you are not working for Mambo? I work in the IT field for a large technology company in the U.S where I spend most of my daytime, I keep an eye on my new business and that include servers administration, respond to clients support requests, etc…, and If I still have time left in the day I try to spend it with my wife and 2 years old daughter.
About Mambo
What is Mambo's biggest advantage against other CMS? It’s user friendly interface which makes it easy to install and operate It has great functionality, stability and security.
And the biggest disadvantage? The lack of a good ACL system.
Where do you see Mambo in the future? I see Mambo gain the largest market share of CMS systems among commercial and freely available CMS systems worldwide.
Your final word to the community? Stick together, give back when you can, spread the word about your experience with Mambo, tell other to try it out and last but not least, visit MamboHUT everyday! |
