Andy Miller aka rhukAndy Miller is the latest addition to the core development team. Many people know him under his nickname rhuk. He placed second in our Mambo 4.5.1 template contest with his Planetfall template and now made an even better design called Solarflare, which has been released with Mambo 4.5.1 RC1. I talked with Andy for our Who is Who section. Read on to read rhuk's interview.

Mambo and You

When did you get in contact with Mambo?
I was frustrated with PostNuke and was desperately trying to find a better, faster, cleaner, and easier to customize solution.  I eventually found Mambo and have not looked back since.  Like PostNuke I really started doing templates for Mambo.  I found them much easier to develop for Mambo and enjoy developing them much more that other CMS solutions.

What is your current role in the Mambo community?
Template designer primarily, also I'm now the newest member of the core Mambo dev team.  I'm focusing my efforts on UI elements including cleaning up the backend and providing default templates in the core.

Do you have any Mambo projects beside the above?
I do some custom Mambo projects for clients, these include components and templates.

What are you doing, when you are not working for Mambo?
Getting very little sleep! I try to spend as much time as possible with my 20 month old son.  He's tonnes of fun, but exhausting.

About Mambo

What is Mambo's biggest advantage against other CMS?
The administration is the best of any CMS bar none.  Also the ease of modification, customization, and creation of new components, modules, templates, mambots, etc is fantastic.  I have found none better.

And the biggest disadvantage?
It's still relatively new, so there are a few bugs here and there. Also there are some features that should really be there like full ACL capabilities. But fear not, all the big ticket items we know of are slated for inclusion in the near future.

Where do you see Mambo in the future?
Mambo has a fantastic future, we're at the beginning of the ride, so buckle up!

Your final word to the community?
One of the great things about Mambo that I have not previously mentioned is the active community, keep up your good work creating and developing. Mambo is the great 'enabler', but it's the Mambo community that will make Mambo really great.
