Today the development team has announced the first release candidate for the upcoming version 4.5.1 of Mambo. Besides some bugfixes the RC1 version does come with some interessting new features:

• A dynamic template system allows you to assign different templates to different menu items
• An installer for backend templates and modules
• A module positions editor, which lets you add and edit module positions
• Support to set caching on or off on a per module basis
• Completely recoded and more powerfull banner module
• Registration activation feature, which allows you to use activation emails on registration
