Logo of the 4.5.1 Template Contest.Mambo 4.5.1 is coming. To support the release of the new version, we thought it might be a good idea to make a template contest. After we talked about this with Robert Castley, leader of the official Development Team, he agreed to include the winner template into Mambo's core. We also talked to several other developers and got some more cool prizes for your.

The time shedule for this contest is very tight! All designers who want to join in have to submit a working GPL template during this week (deadline is Sunday, August 1st 18:00 o'Clock GMT). Afterwards we will setup a 1 week public voting, where every Mamber can vote his favourite template.

To get the full details be sure to read on! We have the full list of prizes waiting for you there. Before you start you also might want to carefully read the contest rules! May the contest begin...

The Prizes

We are very proud to announce, that the winner template will be included into the core of the upcoming Mambo 4.5.1. Thanks to Robert Castley for this nice first prize. For the rest of the prizes some well known developers helped us out and gave away their popular products. Here's a list of all prizes:

The Rules

What we want to see is innovative, fresh and radical designs! We really do have enough standard 2/3 column style templates. As Mambo's focus is on business websites, it would be great to have templates, which are designed for business (i.e.: mysql.com, sap.com, roxen.com, ...).

Besides this wish, we have the following rules, which have to be meet to qualify:

  1. The template has to be released under GNU/GPL only.
  2. All images are not copyright and are free to be used.
  3. All artwork and design must be the authors own
  4. The template must make use of the flexibility of Mambo (i.e. make use of the mosCountModules function).
  5. The template has to be previously unreleased and stay's unreleased during the whole contest.
  6. A working template (ziped) has to be send to This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it untill August 1st, 18:00 o'Clock GMT.
