I set up the first MOS 4.5 site today, the DevNet. It can be found at http://devnet.mamboportal.com/. This it what MOS 4.5 looks like after you installed it using the new installer. During the next days I will customize DevNet and will set up some editor accounts. So hopefully the DevNet will start with MOS 4.5 Dev by end of next week. |

I set up a new poll today. It's the old question that divides the world. What is your sex? Now it's time to come out of the dark and show your face. Hit the vote button... |

While coding this and that for MOS 4.0.x I always had the problem to find good documentations or code examples for my own ideas. Except for Emir nice introductions about the basic design of modules / components I found nothing. This is a big disadvantage for Mambo's upcoming developers.
So I have the idea to found a Developer Network for MOS 4.5. Members of the DevNet would write documentations like my description of the database class or will publish code examples. I could provide the space for this network, but I need people which will take part and supply help and articles. If you have some php and mambo skills and if you are interested to bring MOS DevNet to life, contact me by mail. |

As you might have noticed, I'm working on the downloads section since the last weekend. First of all the Filebase will divide into two separate section. One will contain files which will only run on the actual version 4.0.x of MOS and the second will hold all files for the new version 4.5 of Mambo Open Source.
Another nice feature is the screenshot picture which will be available for certain downloads. This feature will be used for the templates and is already implemented for my templates. Take a look at it here. |

I set up a new poll today, where everybody can enter his age. It would be great if you could participate. Errrr, and don't wonder about the one hit at the 30 years age button, that's me... |

Currently (or should I say as always) I'm fighting against my email inbox. I'm very sorry that I still have so many unanswered mails, but time is not my companion these days. So everybody please be patient. I'll try to win the battle...
BTW A question I get asked a lot is the one about AkoGallery. Currently development of AkoGallery is stopped till the release of MOS 4.5. It makes no sense to spend time on it, if I need to do so again after 4.5th release. |

Today, exactly 105 days after this website opens up, Mamboportal.com broke through the 50.000 visitors barrier. Such numbers always let me stop for a moment and colect some statistical data:
- 190 News items in 5 categories
- 10 articles in 3 categories
- 484 forum topics with a total of 1.667 posts
- 127 files with total of 40.244 downloads
- 106 mambo related links in 7 categories
- 74 guestbook entries
- 4 pics with 4.859 views and 22 comments
- 563.825 page impressions
- 3.243 registered users
- 4 donators
- 1 webmaster... :-)
This makes Mamboportal.com the biggest MOS related fan site in the world. Time to thank the man, who made this all possible: thetrinity from shew.jp! It was his excellent review on portalzine.de which let me take a deeper look at Mambo. Thanks you thetrinity and all the other 49.999 visitors... :-) |

I finished the first 2 articles about the upcoming version 4.5 of Mambo Open Source right now. The first one shows you how easy MOS can be installed with the new installer script, while the second one gives you a brief overview on the admin interface. Please note that these articles describe the leaked developer version and can differ from the upcoming final. |

After SF was hacked these days a dangerous Version 4.0.13 found it's way into the web. The development team compiled a new version of MOS because of this hack. The new version 4.0.14, which can be found at the filebase, is a compilation of .13 and it's 2 patches including a small bugfix. Be sure to update your version, especially if you downloaded .13 from SF the last few days. |

Hi everybody. I'm back from my wonderfull honeymoon trip in the middle seas. After staying 3 days in a nice hotel in Illetas / Mallorca, we went on the clubship Aida for a nice sea travel. We visited Cadiz, Lissabon, Alicante, Formentera and Ibiza. But most impressing to me was the passage through Gibraltar with europe on the one and africa on the other hand.
I will start to read all your mails now (about 100) so please be patient for an answer. Also I will update the site these days with all the new stuff and some nice suprise to you! So stay tuned... |
