Jonathan Felchlin has released a new version of his ChordBase component for Mambo 4.5.1 today. ChordBase helps you organize and maintain your chordsheets inside Mambo. This should be especially usefull for musicians. You can downoad ChordBase from our filebase.

Dan Stanley and Thomas Kahl have developed a new commercial component for Mambo 4.5.1. The Templateswitcher is a backend component only, which takes over the time related display of templates. You can easily choose, which template you would like to during a given time scale. This way you can for example display two different templates at day/night or switch between a spring, summer, autumn and winter template. After last weeks Spyware affaire, Bob de Wit released a clean version of his A6 Mambocredits component this weekend. The new version 1.2 of A6 Mambocredits now has been made more secure and the mail function, which submitted informations from your configuration.php file back to the author, has been removed. We updated the filebase to the new version, which can be downloaded here:

If you have problems to log into Mamboportal.com, then please note, that we have switched to Mambo 4.5.1 today. This included a move to a new user database. Everyone was asked to get himself an account on the 4.5.1 website about a month ago. If you did not reregister, than you have to create yourself a new account now.

After you created a new account, the account will be blocked automatically.  You will now get an activation email, which needs your approval. Make sure, this activation email can reach you! People using spam filters or approval systems could have problems getting this activation email. Here's only one example of many, which reached me today. It's hopefully understandable, that I can not click those blockers and enter any numbers. With hundreds of registrations today, I would do nothing else.

Thomas Kahl, webmaster of Mambots.com and moderator at Mambers.com, has detected a Spyware function in A6 Mambocredits, a component developed by Bob de Wit from Active6.com. During the installation of the component, it send out an email to This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it  containing informations from you configuration.php file.

I advise everybody not to install this software and delete it immediately from your system. We have removed all A6 stuff from our filebase, in case other developments also contain spyware. You can discuss this issue in our forum at Mambers.com. Complaint's should be send to the above email address.

Marko Bischof has released version 1.5 of his League Manager componet for Mambo today. The Basic version of LeagueManager lets you maintain multiple sports leagues and seasons. It has full language support for front- and backend, support SEO and Caching. The commercial solution for professional sporting leagues is available for 29 Euro from Marko's website. Doyle Lewis has updated his ArtistDirectory component for Mambo 4.5.1 to version 2.1.5 today. The new version contains a lot bugfixes and has only a few new features like admin language support. Robin Muilwijk integrated the latest Simpleboard security patch to Fishermamb's Simpleboard today. The new version of the Simpleboard modification done by Rainer Eschen can be downloaded over at Mamboforge. Everyone using Fishermamb's Simpleboard should update to this new, secure version immediately.

Phil Taylor informed me today about the stop of the development of Phil-a-Form. It was worlds first form generator component for Mambo and broke new ground in the complexity of components. Of course Phil will still give support, but he will not continue the component:

"Development on new features has now ended. I will continue to fix security holes (If any are found) and resolve bugs (that are reported from today). Phil-a-form will not be upgraded to work with any new Mambo version (As many components will have to be rewritten to support the upcoming mambo versions!)."
